MAMMILLARIA 
 
A very large Genus of cacti, and very popular as most flower after only a few years - typically producing rings of small flowers round the crown.
 
(names in brackets are alternative names - depending on which taxonomy you use)

Mammillaria Crinita seems to be a complex species. I am led to think that the above is one because, in all the literature I've read, its the only one highlighted as 'flowering for a long time'. The spination also fits the bill. The above is shown near the end of its 3rd month of flowering (early May to August) and its still got more buds.

      Mammillaria (crinita) duweii                               same plant in flower
    (note the thick milky white central spines)
 
 
 
This one was a mystery to me for a while, until I noticed that the radial spination was identical to the duweii, and I now believe it to be a variation without the central spine
